At Grand Valley Bank, we know how important it is for you to bank securely and safely online.
We work with you to maintain the highest level of security possible. We encrypt all data transmissions over the Internet between you and our system using the strongest industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocols. The encryption process scrambles your data. Only your computer or mobile device and Grand Valley Bank’s server can make sense of the encrypted information. The importance of encryption is that it significantly reduces the possibility of unauthorized users intercepting, reading, or using your account and/or transaction information. Your encrypted information is decrypted only after it is inside our protective firewall.
When you sign up for online banking with us, you are provided with a unique personal ID number and an initial password. The first time that you sign on, you will need to use both your ID number and your password. Once you have accessed your accounts, you should immediately change your password to something that is easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess. Avoid re-using the same password(s) you use elsewhere. Your personal ID number is not encrypted and is a means of GVB identifying our customers, while your password IS encrypted for your security. No one at Grand Valley Bank ever needs your password and we will not ask you for it. You should never give your password to anyone, even if that person claims to be a Grand Valley Bank representative. One of the best ways to keep your online banking secure is to protect your password.
Grand Valley Bank’s BillPay service has the same security protections. Working together, we can make your online banking experience safe and secure.
